Score and Ranking
GATE score is on a 0-1000 scale, normalized across sessions.

Qualifying marks are much lower than competitive scores. For PSUs, you need approximately 700+ score.

Subject-Specific Preparation
Computer Science (Highest Registrations)
Start with DSA. For OS, DBMS, CN: focus on conceptual understanding and PYQs. Best Books: Narasimha Karumanchi (DSA), Galvin (OS), Korth (DBMS), Tanenbaum (CN).
Electronics & Communication
Focus on Analog/Digital Electronics, Signals & Systems, Control Systems, EM Theory, Communication Systems. Practice circuit analysis daily.
Mechanical Engineering
Manufacturing and Thermodynamics are highest-weightage. Fluid Mechanics, SOM, Machine Design, TOM also important. Draw diagrams for every concept.
Civil Engineering
Structural Analysis and Geotechnical are highest-weightage. Transportation, Environmental, Surveying, Fluid Mechanics. Practice numerical problems from each topic.
Electrical Engineering
Power Systems and Electrical Machines are highest-weightage. Control Systems, Network Theory, Signals & Systems, Power Electronics.
6-Month Plan
Months 1-2: Cover syllabus topic by topic with standard textbooks. Topic-wise PYQs.
Months 3-4: Complete syllabus, start full-length PYQs, focus on high-weightage topics.
Months 5-6: Weekly mocks, systematic revision, weak area focus, General Aptitude practice (15-20 Qs daily).
