India NATS Apprenticeship: Registration and Establishment Search Workflow
Who registers on NATS 2.0, profile building, establishment search, application per notification and stipend/interview handling.
National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS, now NATS 2.0) on nats.education.gov.in connects graduates and diploma holders (general, technical and vocational) with establishments offering apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Each establishment's notification — often via the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) / Board of Practical Training (BOPT) region — controls stipend, duration, discipline and selection method.
Who registers
Final-year and graduated diploma/degree holders where the notification lists the discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computer, Pharmacy). Create a student account with data matching degree records, verify email/mobile, and complete education and bank details per the current form — Aadhaar, degree/registration number, CGPA/percentage and bank IFSC/MICR are commonly required. Keep scanned degree, consolidated marksheet and bank passbook ready at specified file sizes.
Searching establishments and applying
Filter establishments by discipline, location, qualification, stipend and duration, read the establishment's profile and the notification's discipline mapping, then apply where your discipline matches exactly. One discipline mismatch causes rejection. Track applications in the dashboard, respond to establishment messages/interview calls quickly, and keep the NATS enrolment number. Stipend (often government-shared with employer, where the notification states it) and duration are establishment-specific — do not assume a uniform stipend.
Selection, contract and reporting
Selection may be merit-based, interview or establishment-specific test per notification. After selection, the contract is generated in the portal — verify establishment, discipline, duration and stipend before accepting. Report joining on time; attendance is recorded and affects certification.
Common mistakes and scam check
Applying to an establishment that lists a different discipline; uploading a 5 MB photo where 200 KB is the limit; paying a "placement fee" — NATS registration and application are free and no legitimate establishment asks for a fee to issue a NATS contract.
