JEE Main 2026 Preparation: Complete Strategy to Crack JEE

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is the national-level engineering entrance examination in India, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other centrally funded technical institutions. JEE Main is also the qualifying examination for JEE Advanced, which is the entrance test for IITs.

The JEE Main examination consists of two papers: Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech and Paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Planning. For engineering admissions, candidates must appear for Paper 1. Paper 1 is a computer-based test consisting of three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

JEE Main is conducted twice a year (Session 1 and Session 2), and the best of the two scores is considered for ranking. Each session has 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 5 integer-type questions per subject, for a total of 90 questions. However, candidates must attempt only 75 questions (20 from each subject), with the option to leave out 5 integer-type questions per subject.
