Cycle-specific rules matter

The announcement controls eligibility, participating institutions, allowances, dates and required documents for that year. A prior year's guide may list a closed institution or a changed income threshold.

Account, documents and status

1. Read the current funding and application announcement end-to-end.
2. Create a personal myNSFAS account — do not share credentials with an "NSFAS agent" — and upload clear, correctly named documents. Name files so the assessor can find them (e.g., "HouseholdIncomePayslipsJanMar2025.pdf").
3. Check status messages and respond to requests for additional evidence before the portal deadline. Missing a verification window often closes the case for the cycle.
